CPD Program

Students Empowered Career and Professional Development (CPD) program is designed for students entering high school (9th grade) and who are open to faith-based teaching.  With the intensive focus and long-term commitment of the program, students that exhibit commitment to success and show traits of having the ability to persevere through life situations will be selected to participate.

Students assess their personal attributes, gifts and skills and prepare to succeed with a well developed plan for their education and career goals. Using well developed, proven curriculum tools, career exploration (CE) programs and incorporating biblical principles, we implement a holistic approach to developing and evaluating plans for each student.

SEI uses a variety of tools and resources as part of the program. By implementing specific modules, the students learn to assess their personal attributes, gifts and skills and prepare to succeed with a well developed plan for their education and career goals and learn the principles of Building Success on a Foundation of Faith!

Program Admission

SEI Program AdmissionInterested student’s complete an application that requires a Teacher and Ministry leader recommendation for the student*, an entrance essay and an interview with the student and their parent.

There is no fee to the student to become involved in the program. However, in the real-world of work, time is money, therefore we are asking for a time commitment. Student’s need to commit to participating in the program activities one evening a week and on Saturday afternoons.

Open enrollment into the program is at the end of every school year. This helps us to focus on the selected student’s progression through each program year.

* If the student has not previously attended a church to obtain a ministry leaders recommendation, they will be required to sign an agreement stating  that they are open to the faith-based teaching of the program and will look to join a church in their neighborhood.

Students Empowered, Inc. is a faith-based, non-profit organization, that facilitates the successful formation of High School Students in Chicago into adulthood by providing programs that will holistically empower them to overcome the obstacles for success within their communities.
