Career Exploration

To positively impact other peoples lives, we don’t need a pulpit or a platform. All we need is an opportunity. – Justine Conley

SEI career exporation programsSEI is dedicated to empowering students to rise above our common community obstacles by designing and implementing programs that will give our students exposure to career fields they may be interested in.

The goal for our Career Exploration Programs is to provide a platform for our students to gain knowledge about the “real work” of a chosen career field interest and the not so apparent skills that goes along with a career choice. We prepare them for the amount of preparation that is needed for a particular career path, and we want them to realize how important their high school grades/classes are to their lifelong choices. For instance, students that are interested in becoming lawyers need to realize that reading comprehension and the ability to interpret 30 page contracts is just as important as the ability to be persuasive and assertive in defending their opinion.

If you have expertise in any of the areas listed below, consider sharing your knowledge in a creative approach with students that are seeking to solidify their career choices.

Careers of interest:

– Musicians (Instruments)
– Athlete
– Psychologist / Doctor / Nurse
– Teacher
– Chef
– Writer
– Engineer (Civil, Chemical & Comp.)
– Lawyers
– Police Officers
– Television producers / Film Making
– Artist / Photographer
– Accounting
– Others (include your profession here)
